According to the deeds, the plot of land on which this 3-bedroom terraced house sits was originally purchased in 1898. When we bought it, the house had been empty for some time and was a little tired – there was even an outside toilet.
Our aim was to renovate the property in keeping with the era of the building rather than rip everything out and go ultra-modern.
With that in mind we opted for a Shaker-style kitchen, a freestanding slipper bath to add a touch of luxury, and beehive doorknobs on the newly fitted panel doors. French doors were added to give access to the small, low-maintenance back garden.
A new central heating system and replacement wiring brought the property up to modern standards, making it a warm, comfortable and energy efficient family home.
