This was a 3-bedroom 1950s bungalow when we bought it. To make the most of the fantastic views across the estuary to the rear, we took off the roof and went up, creating 2 new bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. The downstairs was gutted, and once the new roof went on new heating and wiring was installed along with a replacement kitchen and downstairs bathroom.

Roof windows and French doors upstairs and down let the light flood in and maximise the sweeping views.

We built a large deck off the living area and downstairs bedroom to give a seamless inside-outside connection.

The result: A large, adaptable 5-bedroom detached family home with quality fixtures and fittings in an enviable location with outstanding and uninterrupted views.
